Further mock-ups
As part of the development process for the bespoke guardrails at the Wellcome Collection, we visited the West Country Blacksmith forge to review their initial proof-of-concept mockup. This prototype demonstrated that the removable fixing detail functioned as intended without causing any damage to the existing handrails.
Following this successful proof of concept, a more refined iteration was produced and tested in situ. This step allowed us to fine-tune the form, ensure a precise fit, and make any necessary dimensional adjustments before final fabrication.
The mockup process was invaluable in confirming the design's practicality, detailing, and seamless integration with the existing structure.
