East Street Topping Out
Jessica and Paul recently celebrated the topping out of the Studio's exciting mixed use development on East Street in Bristol. The interior design of the ground floor Pharmacy is also firmly underway and very exciting indeed!
Victorian Cupola Repair
The Joiners have completed the rebuilding of the Victorian Cupola that is to be reinstated at our extensive heritage refurbishment project in Clifton, Bristol
A Window on London
The rather stunning oriel window has been installed at 310 Studio’s refurbishment of a beautiful family home on Doneraile Street in Fulham, South London.
Liam McCormick
A recent trip around Donegal in the North West of Ireland allowed Paul an opportunity to visit all seven of Liam McCormick’s famed ‘Donegal Churches’ built between 1961 and 1977. The quality of the architecture ranges from prosaic to magnificent. The church below is St Michael’s Church in Creeslough, its form owing a lot to both Le Corbusier and Muckish Mountain to the West.
Dublin Domestic
We recently got to revisit the beautiful extension to a typical Victorian cottage in Donnybrook, Dublin that we completed a few years ago and greatly enjoyed the sun streaming into the beautiful living room. It’s always heartening to revisit projects after a site has had time to settle into its new skin.
East Street, Bristol
The new slab has been poured at the Studio’s mixed use development on East Street - Exciting!
Chalk Farm Mixed Use
A street-level render of our latest mixed-use development on Chalk Farm Road.
This project features multiple apartments situated above vibrant destination retail spaces on the ground and lower-ground floors. At the rear of the site, a collection of mews-style duplexes has been thoughtfully integrated, maximising the potential of this compact and constrained plot.
Midland Road Housing
310studio’s design for a 71 Unit, 100% Affordable Housing scheme on Midland Road, Bristol. The scheme seeks to wrap the units around a shared landscape that has a large childrens playspace at its centre, a community space that opens onto this playspace and wide access decks that encourage neighbourliness. The tall volumes were pulled away from the existing residential neighbours to be a good neighbour and avoid blocking out their light!
New homes | Old village
310 studio are nearing completion on designs for a contextually sensitive development of 5 new-build homes in Northamptonshire. The scheme is targeting a zero-carbon, environmentally responsible build that enhances the fringes of the handsome village in which it is located.

We’ve been invited to explore mixed-use development opportunities for a site in Bristol and are exploring the possibilities of reflective soffits and colourful play surfaces!
Hammersmith House

Howell’s Nearing Completion
Nearly two years in the works but the extensive external renewal of the Grade 2* Listed Howell’s School in Cardiff is finally coming to a close and looking very well indeed. Sincere thanks to principal contractors Eden London, Vaultstone Masonry, Camilleri Roofing and MDP Heritage Plastering, for their exceptional expertise.

Work in Progress
A simple point of arrival to a family home that visually connects the person arriving to the living space and right through the house to the garden beyond also. The old stone arch that can be seen over the opening was dug up on site when the foundations were being excavated and was thought too nice not to incorporate somehow!

Planning Success in Bristol Conservation Area
Continuing in the practices excellent track record of success with ‘difficult’ planning applications, 310 studio have won planning approval for the addition of a new apartment on the roof of an existing building in a highly sensitive location in the centre of Bristol.. Nice to visit site of 310 Studio’s wholesale remodelling of Hanham Lock Cottage on the River Avon and see the flint block wall of the South Side extension taking shape. The principal contractor can be seen inspecting the works to the right of the photo!

Wellcome Collection Handrail
A rather special project for the Wellcome Collection Gallery in London to ensure that the staircase within their historic building complied with modern standards. The extension to the existing brass handrail has no permanent fixings into the historic fabric and the whole installation, in steel and brass, is entirely removable without leaving a trace.

Wellcome Collection Gallery
The Studio’s carefully-crafted, bespoke handrail extensions for the Wellcome Collection Gallery have completed ensuring that the historic staircase is compliant with modern safety regulations without compromising its character and beauty. The entire installation, manufactured by West Country Blacksmiths, relies on bespoke clamping mechanisms and no mechanical fixings into the sensitive existing stonework.
Zero Energy House Feasibility, Ireland
We’ve been busy researching ultra-sustainable construction practices whilst developing a feasibility study for a zero energy house within an existing Victorian carriage shed in the heart of Galway City in the West of Ireland. An extraordinary learning curve and fascinating, ever developing field of research.
Dallas Lake House
310 Studio’s Lakehouse at Cedar Creek Lake, just south of Dallas, Texas is nearing completion on site - very exciting to see the site photos and looking forward to the next visit!

Minimal Handrail Detail
Bespoke, slender metal handrail designed by 3|10 Studio, crafted and powder-coated by fabricators in Yorkshire.
The minimal design creates a compliant handrail and balustrade for a tight staircase, within a loft conversion. The lines of the metalwork cast shadows onto the wall beyond, introducing contrast and drama to an otherwise simple attic space.
Coffee Time!
310 Studio were given a tour of Wogan Coffee’s production facility last week and learnt a whole lot about Coffee - More complex than wine they say - who knew!
